Rice Krispies Treats

Equipment
- 11.5 x 8.5 inch baking dish
- Spatula
- Measuring utensils/bowls
Ingredients
- 5 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 12 oz bag marshmallows
- 5 tbsp butter (plus about a tablespoon to grease the pan)
Instructions
- Use about a tablespoon of softened butter to grease the baking dish and set aside. Measure out cereal before preparing the dessert.
- Melt butter and marshmallows together in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir constantly to avoid the mixture from burning.
- Remove mixture from heat; add in cereal and stir quickly to combine. The mixture will be very sticky. If you don't work quickly, it will be difficult to transfer to the baking dish.
- Transfer mixture to the prepared baking dish. Use the spatula or lightly dampened fingertips to press the treats evenly into the pan. Cover with plastic wrap and let set for about an hour before eating. Cut into 12 large treats or 24 mini treats.
Notes
Want to add some color for a special occasion? Add two tablespoons of your favorite sprinkles when you add the cereal to the marshmallow mixture.
